Lori has worked in public accounting in Oregon for many years and specializes in tax and financial planning. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University, with a major in business/accounting. Three years later, she earned a Master of Taxation degree from Portland State University. In addition to her credential as a CPA, she has also attained a Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential, available only to CPAs.

Lori began her career with Alten, Sakai and Company, a local CPA firm. After she received her Master’s degree, she worked as a tax manager in the tax department of Deloitte, Haskins and Sells, an international public accounting firm. She also taught accounting at the University of Portland as an adjunct professor for two years. Concurrently with her teaching position, she joined Schultz Group CPAs (formerly Schultz & Crouse, P.C.) and became an owner in 1993. After many years of providing planning services in the CPA firm, Lori formed CLS Financial Advisors, Inc., along with her partners at Schultz Group CPAs.

In addition to her work, Lori is a current Commissioner on the National Accreditation Commission, which is the senior committee for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), reporting directly to the Institutes’ Board, in charge of the accreditation process for personal financial planning for CPAs and other specialization credentials.  She is a past member of the national CPA/PFS Financial Planners' Executive Committee, the CPA/PFS Credential Committee, and a networking group of CPA/PFS planners for the AICPA.  Lori enjoys many outdoor activities, including hiking and cross-country skiing. She also likes to swim, travel, and spend time with her family.
